
Uncovered L.A.
Brick streets and gutters, not to mention cobblestone streets are a part of Los Angeles History. Rather than have the City pave over them, I propose we do our best to preserve them. Or, better yet, clean them up and display them (see below)
Here is what the City did for the Plaza area, near Olvera Street.
And this is how the brick Zanja Madre was preserved at the new State Park in the Chinatown/'Cornfield' area:
